Table Options
Helping to make your table your very own...
Below are some of the variations you should consider when thinking about a custom made table.
A Vintage Wren's tables are crafted in the authentic old world style, each piece is created by the hands of the artist.
Filled with time honored, traditional woodworking technique of all wood joinery, each tenon is hand fit within its corresponding mortise and finished with a hardwood peg, the apron and the legs have become one. Each board on the table top is hand selected and joined together to make the field of the table.
Our tables are available in Eastern White Pine, Red Oak, Cherry and a variety of other hardwoods, varying textures, the option of Company Board Extensions, stain and paint colors of your choice and a variety of leg styles to choose from.
Our work is truly custom so dimensions are made to your specifications.

edges, any splinters or burrs, giving the top an age old look and feel.
Our Circular Sawn Eastern White Pine is locally harvested, it is then brought to a local sawmill to be processed
and we bring it to a NH kiln where it is dried to furniture grade lumber.

Cherry is best left natural (no stain) with a hand rubbed oil finish (protective topcoat) it starts out fairly light colored but will naturally darken into a rich red brown color, this happens when it is exposed to air and light it starts to oxidize, changing it molecular structure causing it to reflect light differently.
We will stain Cherry in select red/brown colors only. It will not stay light, as noted above.
Samples below are for reference only
Grain patterns will vary from this picture.
Cherry without stain naturally darkens with age

Company Board Extensions
Our Company Board Extensions are traditional from the 1700's, before a center leaf and its working mechanism were invented, besides the historical factor we feel they are more in keeping with the aesthetics of the refined rustic tables which we create.
The extensions are inserted into the two end aprons on hardwood rails. The notches are covered with a hinged faux drawer front when not in use.
